Mission Europe: Mission completed !

Thanks for your support in promoting Mission Europe. The “Mission Europe” team has successfully finished its first mission: completing the website and broadcasting the series!

NEW: The Mission Europe Podcasts are available!

The Mission Europe Web site has been updated and “Mission Europe” is now ready for take-away so listeners can subscribe to podcasts of all the series in any of the four languages by going to www.missioneurope.eu and the “mission interactive” pages.

Radio broadcast

Mission Europe is broadcast by Radio France Internationale and Deutsche Welle. Together, they share a potential audience of 30 million listeners in Europe. In addition, their broadcasts have already been relayed by ten non-commercial rebroadcasters in France, Germany, Spain, Poland and Austria, which adds an audience of 50 000 young Europeans to the listener community. Polskie Radio, with about 4 million of listeners in Poland and Radiofabrik, with 50 000 listeners in Salzburg, Austria, are planning to broadcast the series as part of their summer programming. More rebroadcasters are interested and will soon announce the integration of the series in their programming. If you know broadcasters who might be interested in rebroadcast the series, you can show them the special radio pages in the Mission on air” section of the www.missioneurope.eu Web site. There, they can log in and join the radio community.

Web Visits

Since our Web site's launch, Mission Europe has welcomed more than 30 000 visitors with an average of 500 visitors per day. The majority of them come from Belgium, France, Germany, Poland and Spain, but we have also welcomed many visitors from the United States, Brazil and Mexico.

The first reactions from the public, audiences and the partners have been very encouraging:

Mission Berlin” is the best German course on the web; Thanks! (Poland)

„ I already use the materials in my German classes (Valeriu, Romania)

-«I want to send you my congratulations for your job , my students at the University of Valence in Spain loved it very much ».  (Elena, Spain, 04/04)

-“Thanks for these very nice courses” (Carlos, 02/04)

-“I just want to say a big thank you for this amazing resource that you've made available. It is both enjoyable and incredibly helpful (…). This is truly an excellent resource which I would recommend to anyone learning French (…).” (David, 03/04)

-“I think it's a very extraordinary course” (Angel, Spain, 22/02)

The Mission Europe Web site was launched in February with a quiz on Europe. Hundreds of visitors from 33 different countries took part. The ten winners were drawn by a legal representative and their names were published in the Mission interactive” section on the www.missioneurope.eu. The prize was an MP3 player worth 245 euros with the three Missions already loaded.

Expertise

The linguistic experts who have analysed the language contents share the view of the listeners. They have a positive outlook about the success of the method on which the series is based:

“An attractive situational-functional approach in very diversified settings with a good socio-linguistic and socio cultural potential and a good pedagogic “small steps”- approach.”.

“Thanks to the sound reports and the naturally spoken dialogues, the Bilingual concept and immersion strategy works as in real life situations for the level A1.”

(Prof. Martyniuk, School of Polish language, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland)

« The format of the serial in 26 episodes enables a very step by step discovery of the target languages thanks to a progressive introduction of new communication competences parallel with the quest of the stories. This approach guarantees the suspense of the story and motivates the listener”. (Prof. H.T.Siepe, Romanistik, University of Düsseldorf, Germany)
